Welcome Dr Aneta Stefanidis to the IHT team
We are pleased to advise that Dr Aneta Stefanidis has joined the IHT team in the role of Lead, Research Funding and Performance, replacing Merran Stewart.
Dr Aneta Stefanidis comes to us from a leadership role at the Monash Biomedicine Discovery Institute where she has contributed to securing grant funding in excess of $10M from government bodies, industry, foundations, and societies. She has extensive experience as an expert reviewer for the National Health and Medical Research Council and the Australian Research Council, and is excited about joining the Institute and contributing to our ongoing success. She commenced (full time) on Monday 29 January and is based at the IHT Burwood Hub.
Aneta completed her PhD in 2010 in the Department of Physiology at Monash University. She has worked in academic research for more than 15 years, most recently as a Group Leader in the Metabolism & Obesity Program at the Biomedicine Discovery Institute at Monash University. Her research has focused on the interplay between metabolism and gut function and specifically how the nervous system influences behavioural and cardiometabolic endpoints.
Aneta is passionate about developing and implementing strategies to improve grant and funding outcomes. She has experience in preparing, reviewing and submitting research funding applications and is looking forward to reviewing and improving processes to support IHT members.
