All Member’s Survey closes 8 December 2023

Just a gentle reminder to complete our 2023 All Members Survey (link below).  The information generated from the Survey is critical for our planning over the next 12 months.

The survey is anonymous, and individuals will not be identified through data analysis.  Any reporting that follows will be presented in aggregate form only.  A summary of findings from the Survey will be made available to all members.

There are approximately 40-60 questions (depending on relevance), most of which require quick multiple-choice answers. The survey will take approximately 10 minutes to complete. We value your input on these matters and appreciate you taking the time to assist us with this process.  To access the Survey please click the link below.

The Survey will close on Friday 8th December.

IHT Impact Grants applications close 11 December 2023

To support our members to evaluate the impact of their programs of research, the Institute is piloting a competitive Impact Grant scheme. Funding parcels will range from $5,000 – $15,000, and grants will run for one calendar year.

The objectives of the scheme are to:

  • Enable researchers to collect evidence relating to the impact of their research programs
  • Support members to demonstrate the impact of their research in future research funding applications
  • Support members to become more proficient in understanding, evaluating and communicating research impact
  • Strengthen relationships with research end users

Funding will be provided for members to assess the impact of research that has previously been undertaken, not for new research projects. For example, Impact Grants would fund members to engage with end users of their research to undertake qualitative and/or quantitative evaluation (e.g., interviews, surveys) of the impact of their research. Examples of impact indicators are provided in scheme Guidelines and Application Form. Applications to evaluate impact beyond knowledge gain will be considered favourably.

The application form and guidelines are available on the IHT SharePoint:  Impact Grants. Applications must be submitted no later than 5pm Monday 11th December 2023.

Please direct any questions to health-transformation@deakin.edu.au.

Changes to Deakin Research Innovations (DRI)

As some of you will know, Gabrielle Nagle (DRI) finished up with Deakin last week – IHT would like to thank Gabrielle for her many years of service to Deakin, and for her contributions to our research and research partnership success.

Dr Delyth Samuel will continue to be the key point of contact in DRI for any matters for the Faculty of Health. Dr Amy Antonio has also been translated to a role in DRI, and will continue to provide support to the Faculty of Health.

The IHT would like to thank all DRI members who have supported us over their time at Deakin.
