This heat map demonstrates the changing prevalence of maternal obesity (BMI ≥30kg/m2) over a decade (2010-2019) in Victoria, Australia. Data was obtained from the Victorian Perinatal Data Collection (VPDC) which collects comprehensive data on all births in Victoria. The regions demarcated on the map represent eight metropolitan and nine regional Department of Health (DH) areas1. Geographic inequity is displayed, with the highest prevalence of maternal obesity seen in regional areas.
