Congratulations to Professor Elizabeth Manias, who in December received ARC Discovery Project funding to examine how health professionals engage with patients with complex needs and their families when using electronic medical records within hospitals. The project will be led by Professor Manias in collaboration with the Institute’s Alfred Deakin Professor Tracey Bucknall.

Professor Manias said the project aims to help patients and their families become more actively involved in decision-making regarding their care.

 Dr Stéphane Bouchoucha, Professor Ana Hutchinson, Professor Catherine Bennett, Professor Elizabeth Manias, Associate Professor Sandeep Reddy, and Professor Bodil Rasmussen have been awarded $18,358 under the School of Nursing and Midwifery/Institute for Health Transformation Category 1 Seed Funding Program for a project titled ‘Impact of COVID-19 on healthcare associated infections in two metropolitan health services’.

Chief Investigators Professor Julie Considine, Deb Berry, along with Eastern Health collaborators have been awarded an Eastern Health Foundation Grant for $17,528 for a project titled ‘Clinical deterioration in Hospital in the Home patients. Funded by the Eastern Health Foundation’.
